Blue Ridge Bicycle Club Tuesday Night Ride

| The weekly BRBC Tuesday Night Ride starts at the Virginia Museum of Transportation and follows one of several routes depending on your skill level. The more challenging ride climbs up Mill Mountain, down the Blue Ridge Parkway, and back to Downtown Roanoke via Vinton. The easier Lowlander ride remains largely on neighborhood streets. In both cases, riders join up at the Cornerstone pub for post-ride thirst quenching and fellowship. | ||

Starbomb is a regular monthly minibike ride from the top of Mill Mountain to Downtown Roanoke, often finishing up with drink or meal deals at downtown restaurants. Riders are encouraged to dress in wild costumes, ride FAST, and have fun. Dates and times can change so that Starbomb can be coordinated with other bike events in the city, so keep an eye on the Facebook group page for upcoming rides and related events. Starbomb is inspired by Portland, Oregon's weekly Zoobomb rides. |

Bike Valet at Microfestivus

Volunteers from Sharebike.org and Bike Roanoke will provide bike valet parking at the event as well as Star City Pedicab taxi and parking garage shuttle service to and from Elmwood Park. The Square Society will host the 13th annual MicroFestivus, a micro and craft beer festival. There will be a selection of over 50 beers from 20 micro and craft breweries from the Mid-Atlantic region. MicroFestivus takes take place at Elmwood Park in downtown Roanoke on August 14 between 12pm and 6pm. Beer tastings are in 4 oz. and 8 oz. sizes. And of course you have to be at least 21 with a valid ID to have attended. |

A fundraiser to benefit Highland County Recreation Commission sponsored programs and facilities. MMRBC 2010 participants will enjoy some of the most beautiful rural countryside east of the Mississippi River. Challenging ascents, thrilling descents, rolling valley roads and breathtaking views from high atop the mountains of the Allegheny Highlands guarantee a challenge for all cycling skill levels. Water and food stops will be located approximately every 15-20 miles. SAG support is provided. Post ride meal is included. Choose your challenge (distances are approximate):

The DB Mountain Cross will challenge you on Saturday and the Stampede mountain bike race will take you on on Sunday. Former Trek/VW Pro Sue Haywood will lead a clinic after the Stampede. | ||

The 4th Annual Ride Without Limits is a two-day cycling adventure that will challenge your body and reward your spirit, benefitting Easter Seals UCP NC & VA. The Ride Without Limits (RWL) helps raise awareness as well as much needed funds for programs and services that allow individuals living with disabilities to live a life without limits. The incredibly beautiful, rural route offers cyclists the option of riding 38, 64 or 100 miles each day (with a 112 mile "IronMan" option on Saturday), with full support including rest stops every 10-12 miles, SAG support, fantastic food, medical and Bike Tech support all along the way. Riders end each day with a "hero's welcome" and a chance to meet the families they are riding for. Join us on Sept 18-19, 2010 for a weekend of great cycling, fantastic food, awesome friendships and a chance to make a HUGE difference in the lives of children and adults living with disabilities. |
